Oppose Bills Criminalizing Free Speech Against Settlements & Saudi Arabia

The ACLU and MoveOn.org have both voiced their opposition to S. 720 and H.R. 1697. The legislation prohibits Americans from “requesting the imposition of any boycott by a foreign country against a country which is friendly to the United States.” It makes it illegal for Americans to boycott Israeli settlements and possibly other "friendly" countries like Saudi Arabia. Moreover, criminalizing this sort of speech will stifle efforts for a more just foreign policy.
